In Game 5 of the second round of the 1998 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Derian Hatcher opened the scoring for the Dallas Stars with a power-play goal in the final five seconds of the first period against the Edmonton Oilers. Hatcher later notched an assist on the series-clinching goal in Dallas' 2-1 victory. A dominant presence on the blue line throughout his 16-season NHL career, Hatcher spent 12 seasons with the Stars, serving as captain for most of his tenure and leading the team to a Stanley Cup championship in 1999.
