Selected in the eighth round, the undersized but gritty Theo Fleury carved out an exceptional NHL career, tallying 1,088 points and winning a Stanley Cup. Starting with the Calgary Flames, Fleury became a cornerstone for the team throughout the 1990s. In a heated rivalry clash against the Edmonton Oilers during the 1991 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Fleury delivered one of the most iconic moments of his career. In Game 6, he intercepted a wayward pass in the neutral zone, using his blazing speed to outrun an Oilers defenseman. On the ensuing breakaway, Fleury buried the overtime winner to force a decisive Game 7. It was the only overtime playoff goal of his storied career.
