Battling fiercely along the boards with a Flyers defender, John Tavares showcased tremendous strength and elite puck protection skills, eventually wresting the puck away with one hand. He then set up Josh Bailey, who was all alone in front of the net, for the overtime winner. Drafted first overall by the Islanders in 2009, Tavares spent the first nine seasons of his career with the team.
