Facing the Oilers in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final in Edmonton, the Florida Panthers took an early lead and were up 4-1 entering the third period. However, Edmonton scored two goals to narrow the gap, putting intense pressure on the Panthers. With just over four minutes remaining in the third period, it looked like the Oilers might tie the game. Connor McDavid carried the puck and got in tight on Bobrovsky, skating it behind the goal line. From behind the net, he passed it out to Ryan McLeod in the slot. McLeod took the shot, but Bobrovsky made a huge pad save, preserving the Panthers' win and giving them a 3-0 series lead.
