Save vs NSH | 1st Period | Feb 10, 2015

During the 2014-15 season, his first in the NHL, Andrei Vasilevskiy made an incredible pad save on a rebound attempt against the Nashville Predators, offering an early glimpse of why he was the first goaltender selected in the 2012 NHL Draft.

Fast forward to the 2018-19 season, when Vasilevskiy won the Vezina Trophy, and his brilliance was on full display in a game against the Philadelphia Flyers. After stopping a screened shot from the point, he performed a full split to make a pad save, deflecting the puck into the air. As it began to drop towards the net, Vasilevskiy kicked up his leg, stopping the puck with the back of his leg in a stunning display of reflexes.

In a February 2018 matchup against the Los Angeles Kings, Vasilevskiy pulled off an unbelievable glove save. With the Kings on the power play, a shot attempt by Anze Kopitar was blocked which left Vasilevskiy screened. He didn't spot the puck getting back to Kopitar at the side of the net until the last moment. In a desperate move, Vasilevskiy slid over and flung his glove arm behind his back, snatching the puck in an incredible save.

Throughout his career, Vasilevskiy has continued to shine, winning two Stanley Cup championships, a Conn Smythe Trophy, and a Vezina Trophy. Starting in the 2020-21 season, he has been voted the top goaltender in the NHL by his peers in the NHLPA Players Poll for five consecutive seasons. In 2020-21, he was named "best goalie," and in the following four years, he was the players’ top pick to defend the crease in a must-win game.
