Lane Hutson claimed the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie for the 2024-25 season, tying Larry Murphy’s record for most assists by a rookie defenseman (60 in 1980-81). He also became the first blueliner to surpass 60 points as a rookie since Nicklas Lidstrom (60 in 1991-92) and matched Phil Housley (66 in 1982-83) for fourth-most points by a rookie defenseman in NHL history.
