Goal vs PHI | 2nd Period | Apr 17, 1976

Charging down the middle of the ice, defenseman Borje Salming took a pass that sent him on a breakaway. Alone against the goalie, Salming snapped a shot glove-side, finding the back of the net during the 1976 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Later in his career, in a matchup against New Jersey, Salming took a pass in stride and snapped a quick shot past the Devils goaltender, bringing the Toronto crowd to its feet.
A stalwart for the Toronto Maple Leafs for 16 of his 17 NHL seasons, Salming was a trailblazer for European players, establishing himself as a star in the league. In 1996, he became the first European-born and trained player inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, cementing his enduring legacy.
