On June 5, 2004, Martin St. Louis delivered one of the biggest goals in Tampa Bay Lightning history. In the second overtime of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final, St. Louis pounced on a rebound and fired the puck into the net to keep the Lightning’s championship hopes alive, forcing a Game 7 against Calgary. Known for his speed and relentless compete level, St. Louis led all players in assists during the 2004 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 15, capping off a dream season in which he also captured both the Hart Trophy as league MVP and the Art Ross Trophy as the NHL’s top scorer. His overtime heroics helped propel Tampa Bay to their first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history.
