A perennial offensive powerhouse, Nathan MacKinnon has been nothing short of dominant for the Colorado Avalanche. Finishing top three in league scoring in each of the past three seasons—and surpassing the 100-point mark in four straight—MacKinnon added another milestone by leading the NHL in goals to capture his first Maurice “Rocket” Richard Trophy.
One of his most electrifying tallies came in New York against the Rangers. In overtime during 3-on-3 play, MacKinnon took control in the offensive zone, powered his way toward the net, and shook off two defenders before lifting a backhand shot top shelf for the game-winner.
