Marchand immediately recognizes the accomplishment and teammates flood the ice to celebrate. At the time, Bergeron became the 94th player in history to record 1,000 points. Known for his two-way abilities, Bergeron extended his record by winning his sixth Frank J. Selke Trophy in 2022-23.
