With his 25th goal of the season and second of the game, San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson reached 100 points in a season for the first time in his career. At age 32, Karlsson becomes the first defenseman to record 100+ points in a season at age 30 or older. Overall, he is the sixth different defenseman in NHL history to hit the mark at any age, following Bobby Orr (6x), Paul Coffey (5x), Brian Leetch, Al MacInnis and Denis Potvin. On the milestone play, Karlsson receives a pass from teammate Tomas Hertl, changes the angle of his shot to use the goaltender screen to his advantage and shoots the puck through traffic into the net.
