Goal vs EDM | 1st Period | Mar 24, 1988

Late in the 1987-88 season, defenseman Brian Leetch joined the New York Rangers and scored his first career goal. Playing at home against the Edmonton Oilers, Leetch skated into the high slot to receive a pass from John Ogrodnick and ripped a slap shot that beat Grant Fuhr, which held up as the game-winner for the Rangers. Leetch went on to capture the Calder Trophy the following season, part of an incredible 18-season Hall of Fame career. In addition to the Calder Trophy, Leetch won two Norris Trophies, a Conn Smythe Trophy, and the Stanley Cup, all with the Rangers.
