Beginning his career with the New Jersey Devils, Brendan Shanahan scored his first of 656 career NHL goals in his 15th game of his rookie season. Receiving the drop pass just inside the blueline, Shanahan snapped one that found the back of the net displaying his quick release that was able to fool so many goaltenders throughout his illustrious career. His goal, which occurred in the latter half of the third period, proved to be the game winner in the victory over the New York Rangers.
