On the power play late in the second period of a tie game, Jari Kurri works a nice give-and-go with Mark Messier for the eventual game-winning goal in the pivotal Game 5 of the Clarence Campbell Conference Finals. On the return pass, Kurri blasted home the one-timer which marked his 89th career playoff goal and tied the record at the time for most career playoff goals. Edmonton would win the next game to close out the series against Chicago advancing to the 1990 Stanley Cup Final where they defeated Boston in five games. That year marked Kurri’s last Stanley Cup win which was his fifth (all with Edmonton) in a span of only seven years.
