Playing primarily for the Philadelphia Flyers in his 13-season career, Bernie Parent was known for his acrobatic saves, quick reflexes, and remarkable consistency. He played a vital role in the Flyers' back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 1974 and 1975, earning the Conn Smythe Trophy as the playoff MVP both years. Parent's stellar performances in the net also garnered him two Vezina Trophies for being the League's top goaltender. An icon in Philadelphia, Parent’s skill and competitiveness solidified his place as one of the greatest goaltenders in NHL history. In the highlight from overtime of Game 2 during the 1974 Stanley Cup Final, Parent makes a huge save on Boston’s Johnny Bucyk. The Flyers would eventually score a couple of minutes later to win and even up the series. That season, the Flyers became the first of the 1967 expansion teams to win a Stanley Cup.
