Playing in his first ever Stanley Cup Playoffs game, defenseman Chris Chelios notched his first career postseason goal. On the power play during Game 1 of the Division Semifinals, the Montreal Canadiens gain possession of the puck down low off the faceoff. Mats Naslund then gets the puck up to Chelios at the blue line who then skates it towards the net before unleashing a powerful slapshot that eludes Pete Peeters. Chelios led all Canadiens defenseman in points that postseason with 10 points in 15 games.
