Goal vs CHI | 3rd Period | May 7, 1985

Initiated off a defensive zone faceoff during Game 2 of the 1985 Clarence Campbell Conference Final, the smooth-skating Paul Coffey collects the puck in front of his net and leads a rush up the ice. After gaining the offensive blue line, he drops the puck back to Mark Messier who moves it over to Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky finds Coffey for the tap-in goal completing the beautiful tic-tac-toe passing play. Coffey went on to post a historic postseason in the 1985 Stanley Cup Playoffs, setting records for most goals (12), assists (25), and points (37) in one playoff year by a defenseman – two of which still stand 39 years later – on the way to his second of four Stanley Cup championships.
