Goal vs MTL | 3rd Period | Apr 29, 1994

In one of the most significant and enduring rivalries, Ray Bourque rose to the occasion when it mattered most. During Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, held in Boston, he made a pivotal contribution by scoring a goal in the early stages of the third period that ultimately sealed the game against the arch-rival Canadiens. Following the disruption of a play in the defensive zone, Bourque surged up the ice, reclaiming the puck just inside the blue line. Positioned near the top of the circle, he unleashed a powerful slap shot that beat Patrick Roy, sparking elation among the home crowd. In what marked another stellar season for Bourque, he led all defensemen in points during the 1993-94 regular season and also secured the James Norris Memorial Trophy.
