Goal vs PIT | 1st Period | May 31, 2008

During Game Four of the Stanley Cup Final in Pittsburgh, with the Penguins holding a narrow 1-0 lead, Detroit's captain Nicklas Lidstrom makes a pivotal contribution by unleashing a powerful shot from the point to get the Red Wings on the scoreboard. Following a great keep at the blue line by Brian Rafalski, the Red Wings set up on the power play. As the power play time expires, Lidstrom fires a slap shot that finds the back of the net. Detroit ultimately secures a 2-1 victory, giving them a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, which they go on to close out in six games. In achieving this, Lidstrom makes history as the first European-born player to captain a team to a Stanley Cup victory.
