During the 2018-19 season, the St. Louis Blues defied expectations by overcoming significant adversity. After an early-season coaching change, the Blues found their stride and carried their momentum into the playoffs. In Game 7 of the Second Round against the Dallas Stars, Patrick Maroon became an instant hero by scoring the series-winning goal in double overtime. Following an offensive zone faceoff, Robert Thomas fired a shot off the post, and Maroon, crashing the net, pounced on the rebound, knocking it in. The Blues would go on to win their first-ever Stanley Cup in that memorable playoff run.
