In 2017, Corey Perry became the third player in NHL history—and the first since Maurice “Rocket” Richard in 1951—to score three overtime goals in a single playoff season. After sweeping the Calgary Flames in the Western Conference First Round, where Perry netted the Game 3 overtime winner, the Anaheim Ducks faced the Edmonton Oilers in the Second Round. With the series tied, Perry struck again in double overtime of a pivotal Game 5. After receiving a pass in the slot, Perry skated in, partially freezing the goalie, then patiently maneuvered around the outstretched leg to tuck the puck into the far side of the net. The former Hart Trophy and Stanley Cup winner would go on to score his third overtime goal in the following series against Nashville.
