Throughout NHL history, some of the most memorable goalie performances have come from a consistent "body of work," where a netminder wins a game or series despite being heavily outplayed, making crucial saves at key moments. But every so often, a single save stands out as both pivotal and breathtaking. Such was the case in Game 2 of the 2018 Stanley Cup Final. With the Capitals clinging to a one-goal lead and under two minutes left, Braden Holtby made an incredible diving save with the paddle of his stick, robbing Alex Tuch of what seemed like a sure goal into an open net. Holtby’s save helped Washington even the series on the road and sparked the Capitals' run of four straight wins to capture their first-ever Stanley Cup championship.
