A winner of three Stanley Cup championships with the Chicago Blackhawks, Patrick Kane took home the Conn Smythe Trophy for his outstanding performance during the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Kane's offensive brilliance was on full display as he tallied 19 points in 23 playoff games, including two game-winning goals. In the Western Conference Final against the Los Angeles Kings, Kane scored the series winner in double overtime of Game 5. The play unfolded during a 2-on-1 rush up the ice with teammate Jonathan Toews. Toews passed the puck to Kane near the top of the circle, and Kane fired a one-timer past the outstretched netminder for his third goal of the game. In Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, with the series tied, Kane scored his second game-winner of the playoffs. After Bryan Bickell took the initial shot, he went behind the net and threw it out front. Kane got to the bouncing puck first and sent a backhand into the net. Chicago won this pivotal game and then went on to clinch their second Stanley Cup championship in four years in the next game. Kane’s clutch performances in critical moments, combined with his skill and creativity, cemented his status as the postseason’s most valuable player.
