In his NHL debut, Sergei Fedorov immediately thrilled Detroit Red Wings fans by scoring his first career goal. During a power play on the road in New Jersey, Fedorov executed a beautiful give-and-go with Steve Yzerman before firing the puck into the back of the net. His goal was part of an impressive rookie campaign in which he registered 31 goals and 79 points. The former Hart Trophy and two-time Selke Trophy winner spent the first 13 of his 18 seasons with Detroit, where he won three Stanley Cup championships.
