In Game 4 of the Western Conference First Round, Matt Boldy stepped up as the overtime hero for the Wild, breaking a 2-2 tie with just 29 seconds remaining in the extra session. In the extra frame, Boldy drifted to the front of the net and perfectly deflected a point shot from Jared Spurgeon past the Stars goaltender for the winner. The slick tip-in gave Minnesota a 3-2 victory to even the series at two games apiece. Boldy, who led the Wild with six goals in the first round, helped send Minnesota on to eliminate Dallas 4-2 in six games.
